Marketing Specialist

JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision responsible for managing marketing, advertising and promotional activities at a company or organization. Takes steps to measure, enhance, and enrich the position and image of a company through various goals and objectives. Performs various clerical and office tasks and related work as assigned.

1. Accomplishes marketing and sales objectives.
2. Achieves marketing and sales operational objectives by contributing marketing and sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards;
resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
3. Meets marketing objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances.
4. Accomplishes marketing and sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs; developing field sales action plans.
5. Identifies marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share.
6. Improves product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities; improving product packaging; coordinating new product development.
7. Sustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.
8. Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
9. Accomplishes marketing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university in the field of Marketing, Communications, Media Relations, Public Relations, or related field required. Three (3) years of experience in communications, marketing, media, or a related field.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities- Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Bi-lingual skills preferred.

Language Skills

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
